Noel Gallagher predicts Adele won't last in music industry

Iran Herald (ANI) Tuesday 7th February, 2012

Noel Gallagher is positive that the fame and adulation that fellow singer Adele is getting will be short lived, as female singers have "very short shelf life" in the music industry.

The 23-year-old singer shot to international fame following her emotional performance at the Brit Awards last year.

Her album '21' topped the charts around the world and sold more than 17 million copies.

According to Live magazine, despite being praised by stars including Beyonce and rocker Dave Grohl, former Oasis guitarist Gallagher is adamant Adele's success will quickly fade, citing Welsh singer Duffy, who failed to capitalise on her early promise, the Daily Express reported.

"I feel sorry for girls in the music industry. They do have a very short shelf life. For instance, Duffy: who? Gone. She was massive. And I don't doubt for a second that the same thing will happen to Adele," he said. (ANI)
