TEHRAN, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, have called for further efforts by Muslim states to stop Israel's renewed attacks against Gaza and Lebanon.
In a phone call on Monday, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the West Asia region, especially the situation in Palestine, the resumption of Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, the U.S. airstrikes on Yemen, as well as other international issues of common interest, according to a statement released by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
Araghchi condemned Israel's "crimes and aggression against Gaza and Lebanon" in violation of the ceasefire agreements with Hamas and Hezbollah, calling on the international community, particularly the Muslim and regional countries, to take immediate actions to stop the Israeli "crimes."
Araghchi also denounced the U.S. airstrikes against Yemen, stressing the importance of further cooperation and coordination among the regional countries to prevent "aggression against Muslim states and the escalation of insecurity and instability in the West Asia region."
Fidan, for his part, underscored the importance of the Muslim states' greater attention to the situation of the "oppressed" Palestinian people.
He expressed his country's readiness to find diplomatic solutions to regional and international issues.
