In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Araqchi and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi talked about the course of cooperation between Tehran and the UN nuclear agency.
The foreign minister briefed the IAEA chief on the latest developments and diplomatic consultations regarding Irans peaceful nuclear program.
Highlighting Irans policy of interaction and cooperation with the IAEA, Araqchi called on the UN nuclear agency to adopt a clear stance on the threats against the peaceful nuclear facilities of Iran.
He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will take whatever action necessary to safeguard its nuclear program considering the persistence of the threats.
For his part, Grossi said he will hold consultations with the other parties in order to create a suitable atmosphere and help settle the problems.
He also made a request for visiting Iran, which was approved in principle by Araqchi.
They finally agreed on plans to consider and finalize the details of Grossis visit to Iran to make sure that the trip will be successful.
