Members of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Basem Naim and Osama Hamdan, metwith the Iranian foreign minister in Tehran on Monday.
The latest developments in Palestine, particularly the Israeli regimes crimes in Gaza, were discussed in the meeting.
The former Palestinian health minister Dr. Basem Naim referred to the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and the occupying regimes weaponized use of water and food for collective punishment, saying the people of Gaza and the resistance groups will continue to stand firm against the Zionist crimes until a solution is reached to secure the interests and rights of the Palestinian people.
Naim added that despite the mediation efforts, the Zionist regime has no intention of stopping the war and is using the negotiations as a mere tactic to buy time and to impose, through talks, the very goals it has failed to achieve on the battlefield, the Iranian Foreign Ministrys website reported.
The Hamas official underlined that in any negotiation, the sole objective of the resistance movement is to guarantee the interests and rights of the Palestinian people, including a complete ceasefire, withdrawal of the Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, and the lifting of the oppressive blockade on Gaza.
He also thanked the friendly nations supporting Palestine. Naim specifically appreciated the supportfrom the people and government of Iran.
The Hamas official also called on the Muslim countries and the international community to step up pressure on the Zionist regime to put an end to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
For his part, Araqchi thanked the Hamas delegation for participation in the Tehran Dialogue Forum.
He said the ceasefire proposals presented by the Zionist regime and the US have not addressed the fundamental demands and interests of the Palestinian people.
Araqchi reaffirmed Irans continued support for the Palestinian people and resistance in the face of the Zionist regimes crimes, particularly through diplomatic efforts and at the regional and international bodies.
