DUBAI, 26th March, 2025 (WAM) -- La Liga, the Spanish Football League, has unveiled its plans and initiatives to discover football talent in the UAE, selecting eight promising players - equally split between boys and girls - for an intensive development and training programme in Madrid.
The selected participants will visit clubs in the Spanish capital and gain first-hand exposure to the Spanish football scene in an experience designed to inspire emerging youth talent.
The announcement came during a press conference held in Dubai as part of the "LaLiga FC Futures" programme, which aims to identify the next generation of football talent. Around 200 players from various academies across the UAE are undergoing practical trials at the High Performance Centre in Dubai Sports City.
The event was attended by Ral Ostale, Head of Marketing and Content for La Liga in the Middle East and North Africa; Daniels Pitrows, CEO of the High Performance Centre; and Ruben Cano Sierra, Technical Manager for La Liga sports projects.
The UAE was chosen for these trials due to its regional significance and the presence of advanced football academies. This initiative follows previous rounds in the United States and South Africa, with future stages planned in Vietnam and Guatemala.
The talent selection programme focuses on a range of attributes, including technical skills, talent, and a positive mindset, aiming to build athletes with strong personal values and sporting character.
