CAIRO, 28th April, 2025 (WAM) -- The organising committee of the seventh edition of the FDC Summit, held under the theme The Arch of Digital, has announced the UAE as the official Guest of Honour. The summit features high-level participation from the UAE Cybersecurity Council and several leading Emirati companies.
Running until 30th April at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre, the event brings together more than 100 regional and international experts and decision-makers.
A distinguished delegation from the UAE Cybersecurity Council, led by its Chairman Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, is taking part in the summit, accompanied by representatives from the UAE's leading technology and cybersecurity companies.
This strong participation underscores the UAE's prominent position in regional and global cybersecurity and digital transformation efforts, while also highlighting the strength of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the UAE, particularly in the information and communications technology sector.
Dr. Al Kuwaiti reaffirmed the Council's commitment to enhancing international collaboration in information security and cybersecurity, stressing the importance of exchanging expertise and developing innovative solutions and best practices.
He further noted that the FDC Regional Summit for the Digital Industry stands as a prominent example of the Council's efforts to foster cooperation with regional and international partners in the field of cybersecurity.
He said the UAE's participation reflects its ongoing efforts to advance digital infrastructure and bolster the digital economy in the Middle East. He added that the summit offers a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and engage in dialogue with regional counterparts on key issues related to cybersecurity and information security.
For his part, Eng. Tarek Shebika, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the FDC Summit, said the UAE's selection as Guest of Honour is a reflection of the deep-rooted strategic relations between Egypt and the UAE, as well as the UAE's leadership in cybersecurity and digital innovation.
He expressed pride in welcoming the UAE Cybersecurity Council and leading Emirati companies, noting that their presence would pave the way for greater collaboration between Egyptian and Emirati companies. He added that this participation would contribute to enhanced knowledge exchange and open new prospects for joint technology initiatives.
Shebika further revealed that several new strategic partnerships between Egyptian and Emirati companies specialising in information technology and cybersecurity will be announced during the summit. These agreements are expected to strengthen regional integration and contribute to building a secure and sustainable digital ecosystem in the region.
The FDC Summit will feature more than 40 specialised sessions with the participation of 100 regional and international speakers, addressing key topics including digital transformation, the data centre industry, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, smart cities, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the digital economy, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
