ABU DHABI, 8th May, 2025 (WAM) -- The United Arab Emirates will celebrate UAE Medical Day on 9th May, an annual occasion dedicated to recognising the efforts of medical, nursing, and administrative professionals working in various healthcare institutions across the country.
The day reaffirms the nation's commitment to supporting health and quality of life, in line with the values of humanity, compassion, and generosity.
UAE Medical Day shines a spotlight on the country's continuous achievements in healthcare, ensuring health security, and pioneering smart medical solutions, solidifying its regional and global leadership in delivering comprehensive and advanced health services.
The occasion serves as an opportunity to honour the men and women who have chosen careers in medicine, nursing, and healthcare - those who protect lives, embody compassion, and offer hope in the face of diseases and health challenges.
The visionary leadership of the UAE has laid the foundation for a comprehensive healthcare system built on prevention, technology, and human expertise, transforming health challenges into opportunities for development and innovation. This approach has positively impacted public health indicators, customer satisfaction, and societal well-being.
In a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM), Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH), said that "On UAE Medical Day, we celebrate the people and progress shaping the health of our nation."
He stressed that Abu Dhabi stands today as a global beacon of health innovation - home to one of the most advanced, intelligent, and resilient healthcare systems in the world.
He added, "Powered by data, AI, and cutting-edge infrastructure, our system reflects a clear vision: to move from reactive care to proactive health - keeping people healthier for longer.
"Our top priority is healthy living. By shifting focus to prevention and well-being, we empower our community to live longer, healthier lives - not just today, but for generations to come.
"Our talented healthcare workforce remains the backbone of this transformative journey. Their dedication and expertise are the driving force turning our ambitions into reality and setting new standards of excellence."
"As we look ahead, Abu Dhabi remains committed to building a sustainable, innovation-driven health system - one that delivers impact locally and sets new benchmarks globally," Al Mansoori concluded.
Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Under-secretary of the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi, told WAM that "On this occasion, we celebrate Abu Dhabi's world-class healthcare ecosystem, built on exceptional capabilities that have firmly established the nation among the best globally."
She added, "Driven by strategic investments and a forward-thinking embrace of cutting-edge technologies, we are committed to delivering best-in-class, personalised healthcare experiences that meet the diverse needs of our community. Achieving the highest quality of care remains our top priority, guided by global standards and best practices, creating a blueprint of excellence for the world to follow."
"Our talented healthcare workforce is the heart of this journey. Their dedication, compassion, and expertise inspire hope and deliver the highest level of support to every patient. It is through their relentless commitment that we continue to elevate our healthcare system, ensuring longer healthier, brighter futures for all," Al Ghaithi concluded.
