ISTANBUL, 18th April, 2025 (WAM) -- Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates' historic and unwavering stance on the Palestinian cause, rooted in the firm conviction that sustainable stability in the region cannot be achieved without a two-state solution.
He reiterated the UAE's steadfast commitment to supporting the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, stressing the urgent need to establish a serious political horizon leading to the creation of an independent Palestinian state along the 4th June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Ghobash conveyed the UAE leadership and people's heartfelt solidarity with the Palestinian people, particularly those in the Gaza Strip, expressing deep sorrow and condemnation over the killing, destruction, starvation, displacement, and acts of genocide they are facing.
His remarks came during the UAE Parliamentary Division's participation, led by Ghobash, in the first meeting of the Parliamentary Group in Solidarity with Palestine, held today in Istanbul under the patronage of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoan, and hosted by the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye. The event saw the participation of 12 heads of parliament.
