SHARJAH, 25th April, 2025 (WAM) -- The University of Sharjah made a distinguished mark at the 57th General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, hosted at the International University in Kuwait. The event, which drew together presidents and representatives from over 250 Arab universities as well as prominent academic figures from across the region, unfolded under the theme "Arab Higher Education in the Era of Digital Transformation and Regional Integration."
Presiding over the University of Sharjah's delegation was Professor Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah. His presence underscored the institution's commitment to academic leadership and regional collaboration, a vision strongly supported by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University.
The conference's sessions delved into critical issues such as enhancing the quality of education in Arab universities, expanding the scope of scientific research collaboration, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, and spotlighting the importance of digital transformation in higher education. Participants also discussed strategies to improve university rankings at both the Arab and international levels.
Prof. Al Nuaimi lauded the pivotal role played by the Association of Arab Universities in fostering dialogue and integration among higher education institutions. He reaffirmed the University of Sharjah's dedication to supporting the Association's initiatives and engaging in its future projects, all in pursuit of elevating university education and advancing sustainable development across the Arab world.
Prof. Al Nuaimi took part in the 56th session of the Executive Council of the Association of Arab Universities, joining fellow university leaders in deliberations that promise to shape the future of higher education in the region.
